Like a stone shape-shifting into a hare.
This statement-sized specimen of Royal Imperial Jasper evokes a rabbit with its ear-like shape and a sort of face, hidden in time and space. A border of opaque, chalky white rock surrounds a semi-translucent, avocado to olive green zone of Jasper. At the very center, an egg-like structure floats with an earthy pink border surrounding a rusty clay center. This mysterious center evokes a worm-hole or time vector that I can't help but expect to see push out of the center of the stone. This is a reference to the movie Donnie Darko. And just like there's two versions of Frank as the rabbit and Frank as the guy missing an eye, the reverse side of the stone summons up this very state.
Hold this gem up to the light and it glows with hues of mustard, golden amber, moss, and dusty peridot. The patterns, colors, and textures of this exquisite Jasper are all natural in texture and color.
